Skid Recognition and Correction Course
The number of crashes recorded on Monday (2nd February 2009) leapt three-fold compared to normal levels according to Accident Exchange, a leading accident management company.
However, not all accidents will have been reported yet, says Steve Evans, chief executive of Accident Exchange.
Evans added: "Driver inexperience is to blame with people coming across marooned cars and hitting them, driving too fast or too close to the car in front."
Understanding the main causes of skid situations, being able to recognise different types of skid, and how to regain control if you do skid can play a significant role in protecting yourself and others from injury or worse!
In an ideal world, every driver would receive skid awareness tra ining early in their driving career. Most drivers first skid is a real-world experience, with unforeseen and potentially disastrous results.
Using specially designed “Skid Trainer” vehicles, the Drive 4 Quality “Skid Recongnition and Correction” course gives drivers the opportunity to understand the causes of skids and correction techniques that can help to reduce the risk of becoming involved in a crash.
